Our Journey - brief background

Faith Community Church is a combination of two churches from the past (Bethany Baptist and East Whittier Baptist). Some years ago a new start was given us. After prayer and considering what to do about the future, the church decided with vision and courage to refurbish the old sanctuary and search once again for a Pastor.

Fifty-four adults called Pastor David Mills in September of 1996. God blessed the prayers and desire of those 54 and began to add to their number. By the end of the first year there were 200 plus adults and 50 new believers. New buildings were added to embrace all that came. By the end of the second year we had 300 plus adults with over 100 new converts. God was adding to our number. New buildings were once again added. Now in our eighth year there are hundreds who call this their church home and hundreds of new decisions for Christ.

We completed our new sanctuary in 2001 to comfortably seat 450. We are thankful for all God has done for us.

Over the past 4 years our church has reached into India, Sudan, Egypt, and Kenya with the good news of the Gospel! We are excited to celebrate the salvation of over 10,000 people and an equal 10,000 leaders have been challenged and equipped for their country's leadership needs.

We are excited about the future! And we know that God is doing a new work here and that the best days are yet to come!
